This is Jessica,
and she has been blessed with family and recipes.
Through both her paternal and maternal great grandparents, she was given the gift to serve others through food and kindness. She was raised in a family soul food business that began in 1959 on her paternal side, and through that business she was able to share the all-time family recipe from her maternal side--tea cakes. The recipe orginated from her great-grandmother, Amelia James, from Mossville, LA.
By serving the tea cakes in her family's restaurant,
Houston This Is It Soul Food, Jessica has been honored to bring back the nostalgic feeling that many people long for. As a young girl who loved eating them herself, she never imagined that she would turn it into a business where she is able to ship that feeling all cross the country.
